Like Wat Srathong, Wat Sra Bua Kaeo is found in the northeastern province of Khon Kaen, though its construction dates from 1931, nearly a century after Wat Srathong's founding. As at Wat Srathong, the chief point of interest, historically and artistically, is the sim, or ordination hall. The paintings found on its exterior and interior walls, likely created around the same time as the temple's founding, are the work of Buddhist monks from nearby villages.
