The Andaman Sea - Jim Wageman

The mountainous spine of Thailand's southern peninsula was once covered in rainforest, now greatly reduced as the result of illegal logging and the frequently illegal development of rubber and palm-oil plantations. Nonetheless, the stretches of sandy, tree-lined beaches, dramatic limestone cliffs and karsts, and the many offshore islands that lie along both the gulf and Andaman Sea coasts make this an appealing destination for tourists, both domestic and international.
